When we start anything new, we begin with a measure of enthusiasm and a goal in mind. Generally, our initial efforts are consistent, & then over time, consistency and enthusiasm begins to wane until, eventually, we start to focus on the reasons why we can't do the thing we started out wanting to do.
It usually sounds a little like this…..”I ran out of time” “I’m too tired today” “I forgot to……….& I have to get that done instead” until eventually it becomes an avoidance, rather than a focus.
Does any of this sound familiar?
So often, when I’m chatting with women about wanting to improve their health & weight, they can tell me about many times in their life that they started something with good intentions, like going to the gym, walking every day, eating healthy……and then they hear themselves saying – “I’ll start again on Monday” "I’ll just wait for all this busyness to settle down” “there’s not enough time right now” “I ran out of energy & motivation”….
There are more and more reasons WHY they are not getting the results they set out to achieve.
So how can you quit falling back on reasons and start getting results?

When we are surrounded by clutter both physically and mentally, we’re setting ourselves up to be in a state of disorganisation. For example, a clear desk or living environment makes way for clear and focussed thinking. An organised pantry, fridge or just having a schedule for your day helps you to be prepared and have good quality healthy food on hand when time is short.
Daily routines are all about taking action and retraining the neural pathways of your brain to form new habits that will take you closer to your goal. You will no longer have to rely on will power to force yourself to take the action. Your routines become habits and they begin to happen automatically.
By focussing on your health instead of your weight, you’ll be able to create the energy to achieve your goals, so as part of your daily routine, it's important to structure in movement which involves more than housework or shopping.
What I’ve noticed is that when consistency drops, and reasons start creeping in as to why results are not being achieved, weight loss success is harder to reach.
I know life gets in the way, and its easy to turn a blind eye and let the things that mattered to us slip away and become a wish, a distant dream.
