I recently completed Eat, Thrive, Love with Suzanne Ingleton.
My reason for wanting to take part in Suzanne's program was not only to reduce menopausal weight gain, but to change years of harmful internal dialogue around my aging body and an unrealistic ideal of how I wanted to look.
Suzanne creates a safe and nurturing space and I felt comfortable to open up about thoughts that have plagued me for years.
I've gone from practically starving myself all day long, to sitting quietly and slowly eating breakfast, and doing my best to consume protein at every meal. I've learnt that eating slowly, chewing thoroughly and being fully aware of the textures and sensations of food in my mouth, allows me to feel satiated with much smaller sized portions of food. These easy tweaks have increased my energy levels and I no longer feel the afternoon slump that I previously did.
I have been so inspired since taking part that I'm now exercising daily thanks to my boosted energy levels, my sleep has improved and my weight has come down by 2kg. (without even trying). The combination of proper nutrition, exercise and sleep have had a massive impact on how I feel, think and behave. I can now look in the full length mirror and accept my aging body with loving kindness and feel grateful for everything that it allows me to do in this world.
